Donate to Protect Leatherback Sea Turtles &
Champion the Rights of Nature

Your gift today powers community action, groundbreaking research, and international advocacy to safeguard one of Earth’s oldest and most threatened species: the leatherback sea turtle.

Why Your Support Matters
The leatherback sea turtle has survived for over 100 million years, but today, it's disappearing fast. Threatened by fisheries bycatch, plastic pollution, climate change, and habitat loss, leatherbacks need our help now more than ever.

We believe real conservation starts with community, data, and justice. When you donate, you’re supporting:

Legal

Advocacy

Join our global movement to recognize the Rights of Nature, ensuring that ecosystems and species like the leatherback sea turtle have the legal right to exist, persist, and regenerate.

Your Support Makes It All Possible.

Protect Marine Life. Empower Communities. Redefine Conservation.

Saving our ocean’s most ancient mariners takes more than good intentions. It takes local leadership, cutting-edge science, and the power of storytelling to ignite global change.

Your donation empowers coastal communities to lead conservation efforts, funds groundbreaking research that drives real-world solutions, and amplifies stories that shift mindsets and inspire action worldwide. Together, we’re reshaping how the world understands and values Nature as a living, legal entity.

When you give, you’re fueling a smarter, more just, and more effective way to protect our ocean; one that is built on collaboration, evidence, and deep respect for the communities who depend on these waters.

Donate today to turn knowledge into action, stories into momentum, and communities into catalysts for lasting change.

The Leatherback Project is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the leatherback sea turtle and other threatened and endangered marine species through research, education, and advocacy initiatives primarily aimed at mitigating fisheries bycatch and designating and implementing marine protected areas.

Explore Our Conservation Projects

We work in critical regions where marine ecosystems are under pressure and our efforts can truly tip the balance. From nesting beaches to migratory corridors, our projects are designed to restore ecological health, reduce human-driven threats, and give endangered wildlife, like the leatherback sea turtle, a chance to recover.

Your support powers vital conservation initiatives that focus on high-impact conservation in threatened marine habitats, strategic efforts to reduce bycatch, pollution, and habitat loss; and long-term recovery for species pushed to the edge of extinction.
